Sachin has ~23 years of experience in Private Equity investing and business strategy & operations. Sachin is the co-founder of Forward Capital, a multi-strategy equity investment platform which he has setup in partnership with Ishpreet Gandhi, co-founder of Stride Ventures.
Sachin, prior to founding Forward Capital, was a Managing Director at TPG NewQuest and led the platform’s India business. At TPG NewQuest, Sachin drove the full investment cycle of deal sourcing, deal execution, value creation and exit by building and leading strong investment and operating teams. Sachin has served on the Boards of several companies and has played an instrumental role in turning around loss-making, declining businesses as well as helping high performing businesses accelerate growth and profitability. Sachin’s value creation efforts and subsequent exits fetched him 2 APAC AVCJ Awards (2021) – “Operating Value Add of the Year” and “Small Cap Exit of the Year”. Sachin was also involved in the fundraise for TPG NewQuest and helped raise an aggregate of US$1.5+ billion across multiple funds.
Prior to Private Equity, Sachin was in management consulting for 10+ years where he advised CEOs/ Founders of MNCs, Indian conglomerates and PE Funds on issues related to strategy, growth, M&A, organisation, cost optimization, operations, etc. He helped build and scale Bain & Company’s (a global top-tier strategy consulting firm) Consumer & Retail practice in India by developing multiple scaled client relationships and delivering high-impact business outcomes. At Bain & Company, Sachin co-authored several reports in collaboration with Google, Inc. on the emerging digital opportunity for businesses. Sachin started his career with Hindustan Unilever (HUL) where he spent ~6 yeas across sales and marketing in FMCG.
Sachin obtained his MBA in Finance & Strategy from Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Calcutta where he was awarded the institute’s ‘Roll of Honour’ for outstanding academic achievement. He holds a BTech in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay where he was amongst the Top 5 of his graduating class.
